Having come to the inevitable conclusion that the two of us rattling around in a large family home was neither desirable nor financially sensible, we embarked upon the search for what we planned to be our long-term home.
We investigated bungalows (how much?!?) and flats – sorry Apartments – and then we stumbled across Park homes and became somewhat curious.
After a lot of research, we started to look for parks that accepted pets. Our research led us to Wyldecrest Parks and we were fortunate enough to meet Claire who took us around the park we chose- Radcliffe Park which we fell in love with.
We liked what we heard and so with her help and knowledge, we secured what we believe is a near perfect location and are thrilled with the way our lovely home, the plot and our lifestyle have finally turned out.
So what are the perils of downsizing? – well none, really! Actually, not opening your mind to new possibilities or rejecting options before you’ve found out for yourself oh, and giving away your beloved workmate too soon!
The benefits, too many to mention really! It’s like being on a holiday all-day every day
The ease of maintaining the home especially cleaning- well we can finish it top to bottom in half an hour!
So again, the fabulous location, new friends and lovely lifestyle just makes it a dream come true. And the icing on the cake – we no longer have a mortgage to pay!
What’s not to like !!
Let’s hear it straight from them.
Radcliffe Park highlights
Radcliffe Park nestles on the banks of the River Trent and has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The park has its own wooden jetty where several residents moor their small boats.
The local pub, the Manvers Arms, serves hot and cold food daily and offers a discount to park residents.
In the village, you will find an abundance of local amenities including a doctor’s surgery; dentist, pharmacy and post office, all only a five minute walk away.
Radcliffe Park is located near West Bridgford on the outskirts of Nottingham, close to the National Water Sports Centre and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. The village has a local active cricket club and is close to some excellent golf courses, notably Cotgrave.
The park boasts of picturesque walks like the Cliff Walk (which takes you along the river to nearby Shelford village). There is also nearby, the Memorial Park which is a recreation ground and skate park, with a complex of sports fields.
There is also a lively amateur dramatics group who stage regular productions at The Grange Hall, as well as numerous other clubs and associations.
