Latest Park Home Moving Trends

The entire Wyldecrest Parks team have been very busy this year with a record number of people visiting our parks and moving in. August has been one of the busiest months of the year with literally one new resident moving in every day in one of our 75 parks across the UK.

We also have had a large number of expats coming for visits to our residential parks as the Brexit situation among other reasons has prompted them to start thinking of returning home.

The most popular locations which have had the most new residents move in are:

  1. Herefordshire/Worcestershire
  2. Cornwall
  3. Brighton/Littlehampton
  4. Surrey
  5. Lincolnshire

Why did people choose these locations/parks over others? (we have more than 75 parks across the UK)

While obviously people would wish to move closer to family & that is a major reason, the other top 5 reasons were:

  1. Location of the plot/home
  2. Location of the parks should be close to amenities
  3. Price of the home
  4. How the park actually felt when they visited it & spoke with some residents
  5. View from their home/ environment on the park

There’s a lot to do; we are members of Whitland classic car club and Pembrokeshire M.G owners club. There’s also an informal sewing and craft club which is great! Other residents are members of the local walking club and computer club. There’s some good pub grub in walking distance. The dog walking country is great too.

Which park home models do you think have been the most popular? When people are looking for their ‘forever home’ what is it they are looking for?

We absolutely fell in love with the location, environment of the park. How beautiful and quiet the park is and how you have everything you need. We also fell in love with Bromyard. First impression was that it’s a funny little old fashioned place. Couldn’t believe that it had a theatre, shops basically everything you need only minutes away without it being too much. Sapey Golf Club has different evenings on and Sunday lunch, we are booking in for the Motown evening which we are very excited for.

Based on a survey we did with our residents the most important features of their home were:

  1. Spacious bedrooms
  2. Utility room
  3. Driveway/Parking
  4. Having a walk-in shower instead of a bath
  5. Open plan layout

With the latest park home designs you get a choice of designs & layouts which range from the latest modern open-plan to the more traditional ones, with a choice of floor plans and stunning interior design.

All homes come with quality furniture, integrated appliances, double-glazing and central heating as standard.

All park home bungalows can be tailored to individual requirements & needs & also made wheelchair-friendly.

The home is lovely, cosy and warm and really easy to clean, we love our forever home!

Which are the top 3 most popular park home models? Would you like to know what a majority of people are choosing?

Well we analysed all the park homes sold this year & surprise-surprise the top-selling Park Home Bungalow is still the Omar Regency. Available in a large range of standard floor plans, this home has a layout to suit everyone. Options can include two or three bedrooms, a utility room, study, en-suite shower and/or, a walk-in wardrobe.

We knew that we wanted a new home with all the furnishings being brand new, which meant we could move in immediately. As one that we liked was available here, that helped us make the decision to buy at Gattington Park
Mary and John Cleeves (Lincolnshire)

Catching up with the Regency is the next most popular home – the Willerby Hazlewood. It is a beautiful new design with warm woods and fabrics in tones of cappuccino and blush. The feature walls have a textured feel to add that luxury finish.

Not too far behind this is the Omar Newmarket, a model which only came out in 2018 and boasts a contemporary, semi open-plan living space with tall windows & French doors in the lounge.

There is no doubt that park homes offer excellent value for your money & residential parks offer a very good value in terms of affordability, security and companionship.
