Q. What were your living conditions before you moved to this park home?
We were living in a cute and cosy grade 2 listed house. Even though it was beautiful and we absolutely loved it- we couldn’t do many changes or upgrades to it as was a listed building. Also it was situated on the top of a hill. So the views were great but we were finding it increasingly difficult to walk up and down in a hilly terrain. We therefore decided to sell up and move to somewhere which was central and had amenities close-by.
Q. What made you choose a park home?
My husband retired in December and we had already started looking for homes around that time. We were honestly looking for houses /cottages and a little bit at park homes.
We had already narrowed our search down to Whitland as we loved the area and wanted to be based there. It has everything you would need for day-to-day living plus a train station.
We definitely wanted to be near amenities and a train station so that we could enjoy our retired life, visit places around the area and meet friends and so on.
Most of the homes that we saw & which suited us were too far from amenities/trains. Also they weren’t new – we especially wanted a modular fully fitted kitchen as well as clean & modern bathrooms.Plus at this age we didn’t want the hassle of getting new kitchen or bathrooms fitted.
On our way back from viewing one of the houses we suddenly though of popping over to see Westover Residential Park. We had already received brochures and details on the park from David Masters (the local area Sales Manager).
We liked what we saw & then we arranged a complete viewing with David. We loved the Omar Regency show-home & decided literally on the spot to buy it.
It had everything we wanted – was spacious & open & has an amazing, fully fitted lovely kitchen.

Q. How is life on Westover Park?
It has been really nice actually. Since we bought a show home, we moved in quick. Our house got sold pretty quickly as well so it was an easy move for us.
We love the community aspect of park-home life and all the residents on the park are actually really nice people.
We don’t live in each other’s spaces but we see each other and visit each other a lot. Since it’s a new park and we have people moving in often, we welcome all our new residents with evening meals and chats!<
Carmarthenshire is less than 15 minute drive away and is a great day out! It has a lovely shopping centre with Debenhams and Marks & Spencer’s, quaint boutiques and Banks and restaurants!
We went to Tenby beach on Saturday to meet some friends and spend the day. It’s less than a 10 minute walk from the park to the train station & the walk is all flat –so it’s extremely convenient. The train journey is only 25 minutes and Tenby is so lovely.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenby .Tenby is a harbour town and resort in southwest Wales. It’s known for its 13th-century town walls and its stretches of sandy shoreline, including Castle Beach. The ruins of Tenby Castle are on a headland overlooking the harbour. Exhibits at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery include 16th-century wrought-iron cannon. The Tudor Merchant’s House recreates domestic life in 1500, with a merchant’s shop and working kitchen.
