My journey from a Bristol city-centre house to a peaceful bungalow in Wales

My journey from a Bristol city-centre house to a peaceful bungalow in Wales

We are ready to welcome the lovely Irene Dunn to our wonderful Westover Park on Thursday. We caught up with her while she is getting ready to move in less than 2 days now & found her full of excitement and a little bit of nervousness.

Irene moves from Bristol where she is living in a 3-bed detached house which she has sold. She took advantage of the £5,000 summer discount offer which has been running on all new park homes in our residential parks across the UK.

I chose a 40×20 Omar Regency Cross Lounge which has a very good sized kitchen with a separate dining room. The Lounge is quite big as well plus the master bedroom has an en-suite which is so helpful as well”

I used to visit the beach town of Llaneli when I was a kid. I have so many memories of that town. It will now be less than 45 minutes from my park home and I intend to visit it often to relive some of my memories!

Q. Why did you choose a park home?

My house was too big for me. I used to work as a catering manager with the Bristol City Council and after retiring, I wanted to live in a more peaceful area which was well-connected. It also made a lot of economic sense for me as I could have extra money in the bank & lower my living costs by a decent amount as well.

I searched online, visited this park and just loved it. It is a brand new development so it offered a choice of plots.

The spot I chose is lovely as it is just 3 bungalows in a row so it gives an added advantage of being a little secluded. It faces the landscaped lake on one side as well.

I met two park residents when I visited the park & spent some time chatting with them. They were really friendly and warm and I am really looking forward to forming some good friendships in the park.

As I am packing my belongings, I’m actually very excited to start this new chapter in my life. My new park home is fully-furnished so the move is quite simple & I’m really looking forward to giving it my personal touch now!
