Moving to a Park Home in 12 days

We welcomed Steve Edwards into his beautiful new Willerby Charnwood home on the 11th of May, so he has just finished a month of living in Westover Park.

He actually visited the park for the 1st time on the 29th of April, placed a deposit for the home of his choice & moved in on the 11th of May.

Q. What made you choose Westover Park?

I moved into Carmarthenshire in 1988 to bring my children up in a nicer, tranquil environment. I moved from Ilford in East London & Carmarthen has been my home now for years.

I am now retired after working as a Director for a manufacturing company & was living in Carmarthenshire – so not too far away.

When I decided to downsize & simplify my life – I wanted to stay local to the area.

Q. Why Park Homes?

I actually hadn’t decided on park homes, I didn’t even know much about them. When I started looking, I was mainly looking at bungalows. But during my research, park homes popped up & I was drawn.

I saw Wyldecrest parks website, did a lot of research online & then called up & booked a viewing.

I loved the park, its lovely; the people are so warm & welcoming. I saw about 5 new homes in the park before I chose the Charnwood – I just loved the home design & decided to reserve it right away.

I got a ramp fitted for my park as I didn’t want steps. I have an e-bike which I use to ride around every day. It’s tranquil & beautiful – just the perfect place.

Q. How is life in the park?

As I said the park is warm & welcoming – the residents make it so. Adrian, our park manager is a fantastic guy – nothing is too big or difficult for him & he goes out of his way to accommodate everyone.

Q. Anything else you would like to share with us?

I actually researched Alfie Best – your CEO when I was deciding to buy the home. I was really impressed– he has achieved so much in his life journey & I have admiration for him. I look forward to meeting him when he visits Westover Park next time.

I am very happy & pleased in the park – it has lived up to all my expectations & it’s a great way of life. Both my children have moved to America now. Living in the park however makes you part of a lively, warm community & you just never feel alone.

Thank you Steve for sharing your journey with us. We wish you lots of health & happiness in your ‘forever home’

Westover Residential Park

The park accommodates 56 homes; it is self-contained, so will provide an intimate community atmosphere. Typically residential parks can be a lot larger, so Westover Park is a rare find.

A communal parking area and communal seating area is adjacent to the feature pond. A tranquil setting to sit and read the paper whilst interacting with fellow residents.

Security and peace of mind have been carefully considered; the Park has an electric security entrance gate. Residents only are the key holders.

The Park is for 50’s and over only. (Family and friends with children are of course welcome to visit).

A strong community is building with a mixture of couples, single men and women, from largely England and Wales (approx. 50/50). Likewise, Whitland has a strong community with an annual festival, rugby club, social club and lots of hobby clubs too.

  • Local Facilities & Amenities 8 minutes flat walk. 0.3 Miles (shops, pubs and cafes, doctor, dentist, vet, pharmacy…).

  • Saundersfoot 11 Miles, 22 minute drive, 21 minutes by train.
  • Tenby 14 Miles, 25 minute drive, 27 minutes by train.
  • St Clears 5 Miles, 9 minute drive.

  • Kidwelly Castle 23 Miles, 34 minute drive.

We have 4 new homes & 4 plots left in the park: You can choose & bespoke a home of your choice as well.

We have a plot just on the left as you enter the park. From the back garden, you get a view of the pond and fountain. A rear deck would take the best advantage of this.

We have 2 plots further into the main body of the park & which enjoy frontage views of a lovely oak tree and over into the trees beyond.

A beautiful plot at the back of the park directly next to the tree-lined boundary boasts of a front garden, with the rear directly onto a cul de sac road. It is a side facing plot rather than front-facing.

Then our Premium plot – located directly over the pond & would take a large corner deck going directly into the pond. So an American style “over water” decking.
