We spent most of our life living in Somerset in a house, but we also had a holiday lodge in Wales.
My husband had always wanted to move back to Wales. So when we thought that the time was right to downsize and simplify our lives, we looked online and went to view Westover residential park.
Since we had a holiday lodge, we quite liked the concept of a bungalow-style single-storey home.
Westover Residential Park has a very picturesque setting in the hills of Wales. We loved the park and ended up purchasing a stunning Omar Newmarket park home, a very modern open-plan bungalow.
The home was originally under offer when we visited the park. However, the buyers home sale fell through and they had to delay the plans.
The park manager, Adrian let us know that the home was now available and we just knew it instantly that this was the home for us.
Once we moved onto the park I decided to go gardening mad, purchased a greenhouse and started creating my beautiful garden, my pride and joy!
Growing up I had always been inspired by her father who always had a flair for gardening.
We have been settled in the park for just over a year along with our dog Pip.
The one thing we didn’t expect was the strength of the community in the park. Everyone in the park is here to help each other.
Everyone is always pleased to say hello and have a chat. We would go weeks without seeing our neighbours when we lived in Somerset; it is such a lovely scenario being everyone being so friendly.
Pip is exceptionally spoiled by all residents on park, everyone enjoys petting her and carry treats in case they bump into her and other dogs in the park.
The local town is like taking a step back in time with quaint family run shops and high streets surrounded by beautiful countryside views; you have everything you need without the hustle and bustle.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely story Karen. We look forward to your entry in the Christmas Decoration competition later this year and of course our garden competition next year
Carmarthenshire is less than 15 minute drive away and is a great day out! It has a lovely shopping centre with Debenhams and Marks & Spencer’s, quaint boutiques and Banks and restaurants!
Lovely beach towns like Tenby are only 25 minutes by train. The train station is a 10-minute walk from the park and it’s all a level walk, so easy on the legs!
