So we wanted answers to questions like
- 1. What homes are people loving, which homes are the most popular?
- 2. Which areas are the most popular?
- 3. Which home size is the most popular?
Here our findings:
1. The HOME
The Omar Newmarket & the Willerby Hazlewood are the two TOP favourite homes of new buyers: And this is Why.
Both these homes boast of Apex ceilings which give a spacious, open feel to the home.
While the Newmarket has a very modern commercial look from the outside with its long vertical French Windows – the Hazlewood has a more traditional look from the outside.
Inside, the Newmarket has an open plan – lounge kitchen/diner look which is a choice of many residents. It makes the home spacious & you don’t feel lonely cooking dinner 🙂
This modern home comes fully loaded with contemporary furniture and furnishings which can also be customised to suit your tastes.
The contemporary ivory kitchen comes with an integrated fridge-freezer, dishwasher & washing machine. It also boasts a breakfast bar & fabulous co-ordinated worktops.
The Hazlewood, on the other hand, has an L-shaped lounge diner & a closed-off kitchen so it has a modern layout with a little bit of traditional look.
The interior design in the Hazlewood is very much on-trend, with warm woods and fabrics in tones of cappuccino and blush. The feature walls have a textured feel to add that luxury finish. But if it’s not for you, you can work with our designer to change as much or as little as you like.
Both the homes boast of an en-suite shower in the master bedroom & a bath in the 2nd bathroom.

2. The AREA
Cornwall is the number 1 choice of buyers – no surprises there as Cornwall is the perfect place to semi-retire/retire , downsize & just get ready for some lovely ‘younger days’.
It’s the UK’s surfing home and boasts of quaint villages, spectacular celebrity chef restaurants and of course endless sandy beaches and stunning coastline.
The South-West Coast path has to be one of the most beautiful walks in the world and where you can stumble upon beautiful and quaint harbour towns full of character and charm.
Cornwall is as expected one of the most sought-after areas in which to retire and not surprisingly we have 8 residential parks in our Cornish portfolio with a couple more on the way.
We currently have a choice of plots available on our St Dominic Park due to some recent redevelopment work. This beautiful park is nestled in a secluded valley situated just outside the historic town of Callington, Cornwall (3 miles) and about 14 miles north-west of the city of Plymouth. It is surrounded by fabulous fields, woodland walks and a tranquil flowing stream running alongside. Leading up to the park is a private walled drive with fantastic rural views.
Devon is popular as well & while we have completely sold out in our parks in Dorset – we have recently bought an established residential, lovely park in North-Devon which is now available to view for a choice of plots.
West Sussex is the 2nd on our list. It is a beautiful area of England, covers both coast and the South Downs National Park, encompassing hills, harbours, farmland and market towns- From fairy tale castles, glorious stately homes and rolling downs.
West Sussex is the sunniest county in the United Kingdom, according to Met Office records. Over the last 29 years it has averaged 1902 hours of sunshine per year, sunshine totals are highest near the coast with Bognor Regis often having the highest in mainland England.
We have 6 parks around the Littlehampton, Chichester, Bognor Regis area. A combination of award-winning beaches, the beautiful River Arun and a large seafront green along with the glorious Arundel Castle makes it a very popular place to live.
My next-door neighbours are lovely & very friendly. I have made a few friends, everyone always waves at you in the park! The lockdown period has been quite peaceful & I have managed to start work in my new home.
It was a preloved home but in an excellent condition so I haven’t had to do any work except just sort of decorating it & furnishing it to my liking! I am very happy & at peace in the park – it is a great way of life.

Not far behind is South Wales with one of our friendliest parks: Westover & the most in demand-park because of its location – Woodland Park.
I loved the park, its lovely; the people are so warm & welcoming. I saw about 5 new homes in the park before I chose the Charnwood – I just loved the home design & decided to reserve it right away.
I got a ramp fitted for my park as I didn’t want steps. I have an e-bike which I use to ride around every day. It’s tranquil & beautiful – just the perfect place.
Steve, Resident, Westover Park
Our Most popular Park this year again has been – our Premium Park Saltmarshe Castle Park. The park is blessed in terms of its beautiful & peaceful woodland location. It is a haven of peace & quiet & boasts of beautiful views over the Malvern Hills & Bromyard downs.
Saltmarshe Castle Park has been featured in many of our TV programs & commercials. It has also been featured in a documentary done by BBC about how Residential Parks like Saltmarshe provide an excellent solution for luxury, low-cost downsizing especially for the older population.
The park has come a long way from where it started: the Tower Court Development which started 1st is almost fully occupied now. The Castle Lake development has had its 1st phase of homes reserved already.
The 2nd phase of plots is now ready with homes available to view & a selection of plots to choose from to order a bespoke home of your choice.
We searched online & whichever way we tried – the biggest name which kept jumping at us was Saltmarshe Castle. We looked at it online & it looked very interesting. We knew someone who lived on the park & they couldn’t recommend it enough. We then decided to visit the park.

Park Homes offer that value of money which is difficult to beat. We have been tremendously busy across all our parks across the UK. The Viewings & homes ordered have been increasing daily.
The challenge is to match the perfect home to each customer with their unique requirements, but we have been able to fulfil this with great success.

3. Most Popular Sizes
The most popular size of park home sold is the 36 x 20 square feet home closely followed by the 40 x 20 square feet home.
Both these home sizes give you a spacious 2 beds-2 baths manageable bungalow which is almost the same size as an apartment or a semi-detached house (minus the stairs).
Single homes (2 beds 1 baths) have also been popular & offer a very good value for money solution to many people who would like to downsize & keep it easy to manage.
Average price of new home has been around the £164,995 mark. The price of park homes like all properties depends on the location & then the size of the home.
COVID IMPACT
The pandemic has transformed the property market & even though recent measures have been introduced to help reinvigorate the market, it needs to be seen how much it helps.
Park Homes have always been exempt from Stamp Duty.
The only issue which a few new customers have faced has been to sell the homes as fast as they would like so that they can complete their move to the park home.
We are offering part-exchange for 100% of the market value of the property & that has helped some customers in simplifying the selling of their home.
While the present situation has impacted the way we are conducting views (restricting the number of viewers at one time, spaced out appointments, virtual appointments), the number of park homes sold has been almost similar to the first 6 months of 2019.
Where we decide to live the ‘younger days of our life’ is actually one of the most important decisions of our life.
After meeting thousands of customers & being able to find a home they want to retire to, a home that works for them is our expertise.
